September 11, 2006 -- Leviton Manufacturing Company, Inc., a manufacturer of electrical and electronic wiring devices and voice and data platforms, has announced its acquisition of Fiber Connect Inc., a Chicago-based provider of data center fiber-optic systems.
"With this acquisition - our second fiber-optic related acquisition in less than 24 months - our voice and data division broadens its suite of data center products," comments Daryoush Larizadeh, Leviton's senior vice president. "This suite now includes quick-turn, custom, high-performance fiber solutions, a full range of Category-rated connectivity including 10G, as well as cable management and power solutions."

Fiber Connect is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Leviton, reporting into that company's voice and data division, which is led by vice president and general manager Ross Goldman.

The complete Leviton fiber-optic product line includes a range of pre-terminated and field-terminated fiber products, as well as standard and made-to-order fiber-optic cable assemblies (trunks), enclosures, and cable management and overhead raceways.
